About us

We are a full service content production studio based in Barcelona, one of Europe’s main film production hubs.

Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Pyrenees mountains and the Mediterranean sea, we have access to anything an outdoor brand needs when it comes to creating meaningful storytelling and cinematic content.

We love the wilderness. You’ll find us climbing up mountains, wading rivers, hanging on rock walls, out surfing, and sliding down snow; most of the time with a camera in hand.

Julie Boavi Films
Creative Director

Julie Gomez

Julie grew up in the bayous of Louisiana and then spent the other part of her childhood fitting into her cowboy boots in Texas. She spent 10 years in the jungle of New York City producing and directing series and documentaries before escaping to Catalunya to find new landscapes. She has directed documentary series for sustainable projects in Europe, a multitude of national TV commercials for international brands, and recently finished a feature about the lives of passionate surfers in the Mediterranean. She’s done two sprint triathlons with no shame about her times and plans on doing her third this year.
Marc Boavi Films
Executive Producer | Photographer

Marc Durà

After a 15 year tenure as a surfing industry executive, Marc decided to chase his lifelong passion of telling stories camera on hand. Born and raised on the shores of the Mediterranean, some of his work has been featured in several media platforms. A pretty hard to reach guy usually lost in the wild looking for inspiring stories to tell.
Bruno Boavi Films
Cinematographer

Bruno Amaral

From a young age, Bruno had a deep-seated passion for capturing the essence of stories through the lens of his camera. After founding Kalapa Films, a powerhouse film production studio, he has joined hands with Julie Gomez and Marc Dura to give birth to Boavi Films. Bruno has lent his expertise to a multitude of films and documentaries, as well as commercials and music videos. He is passionate about outdoors and slightly addicted to adrenaline.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
